Following their debut-album "Mud" (2016), the 12“ „Function Creep / Woodpecker“ (2017) and playing live-sets at clubs and festival such as Berghain / Panorama Bar (2016, 2017), Sonar Barcelona, ://about blank Berlin, Golden Pudel Hamburg, Sziget Budapest, Elevate Graz, Lighthouse Croatia, Rote Sonne Munich, Ars Electronica Linz, Zukunft Zurich and many others, they are set to release their new ‚Exu EP‘.
The A-side ‚Exu‘ is a warm, sampled-based house roller steadily developing into soulful, euphoric piano chords.
On the B-side there is ‚State 606‘, a cosmic drum-machine tune with a dubby bassline and floating, anlogue chords on top.
The EP concludes with ‚Rollin‘’, a slow and bass-heavy downbeat dub workout with some proper tape-saturated punch.
released July 24, 2018
All songs written, played and dubbed straight to tape by Patrick Pulsinger & Sam Irl at Feedback Studio One, Vienna 2018.
Mastered and cut by Helmut Erler at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.
Plenty of worldly deep and ethnic house with a few poke-outs of jazz and techno, this comp holds much of much-needed material for today's life. Rarely do you come across stuff that is not only enjoyable to dance to, but can also heal one's own wounds from time, especially with the excellent minimal, laidback melody Local Artist "Dreams." Matter-of-fact lyrics spoken by a gentle voice and backed by tranquil drums and organ really can melt away all stress that crops up in our days... pC
this is the first deep house record i've bought, couldn't resist. some time ago, i started to become more familiar with deep house, kinda as a uptempo equivalent to chillhop related beats.
that release right here is a small masterpiece for me. the jazzy loops, the tight kick drums, the leading hi-hats, the psychedelic vibe - it's just perfect.
not to forget to emphasize the trumpet on "Midnight In Peckham". phenomenal.
i'm more than glad to have found this beautiful piece of art. chillhopper
